Career Goal Statement

As a generalist, my interests are vast, but I hope for a career in communications that will utilize my talents in writing, desktop publishing and promotional skills.

For three years in Blackburn College's public relations office, I have had the opportunity for hands on experience in a professional setting.

I have produced a number of materials necessary to the function and success of The College, creating promotional materials, including press releases, feature stories and opinion columns for a variety of publications, including The 'Burnian, Blackburn's student newspaper, The Update, Blackburn's alumni magazine, and The Blackburn College Communique, an online newsletter.

I've also developed my promotional skills during a summer internship at the News-Gazette in Champaign, Illinois. Here, I contributed to The Pulse and Vow magazines, helped execute an online contest and wrote copy for a guide to the Champaign-Urbana area.
